Oh so much volleyball happening for the club this weekend, just thinking about it makes my knees hurt:-![]()
- Our junior teams (Kestrels/Jaguars) are playing a Bristravaganza for their final matches in BDVA.
- The vertically challenged Jets are travelling to Exeter looking to topple some giants at the top of their table.
- Panthers are fully intending on bringing some heat to Gloucester and ending their season on a high.
- The mighty Falcons, having been proven to still be mortal by Team Bristol two weekends ago, get a chance for some vengeance, and a rematch against one of the finest defences they've come across this season in Southampton VC.![]()
Let's goooo CVC!!!
Ruhroh, these round ups are really slipping, lets hope no one notices this is actually for last weekend 😬![]()
Anyways, it was actually a weekend worth celebrating for our SWVA teams - Jets and Panthers putting in some work and each getting two wins from the weekend. The Jets had to go right down to the wire for their win against Bassett Royals, taking the last set 15-13!![]()
The now obligatory MVP shoutouts for SWVA this week go to:-
- Dan-the-man Mok for his buttery smooth setting for Panthers against PMVC
- Vinicius Stefan, our own Slim Reaper, for cutting through the Wiltshire defence with some vicious hitting
- Clara the serving machine for Jets against Weymouth
- Bethan Gray for Jets against Bassett Royals with the first roof block of her long and storied vball career ![]()
The Falcons had less to celebrate though, their win against City of Bristol VC was unfortunately followed by their first loss of the season to a really solid Team Bristol performance 😔![]()
The juniors in our Kestrels team lost their own match up with City of Bristol, but were unlucky not to come home with a win after a close match with Cardiff Celts.
Jets have their last home game of the season coming up this weekend, fighting alongside the Panthers to break out of mid-table in our South West leagues on Saturday.![]()
Our juniors, the Kestrels, have a local derby on their hands against Cardiff Celts and will be looking the win after a close game earlier in the season in Bristol & District.![]()
Rounding out the weekend, the Falcons take their unbeaten NVL season to Bristol.
Last weekends mid-table scrap didn't go our way, Panthers losing both matches 1-3, despite a fantastic crowd cheering us on 😔 Kudos to Gloucester Eagles and Bristol VC for some great volleyball and helping us put on a show!![]()
Some silver linings though:-
- Captain @niickgray showing just how lethal his arm can be and racking up his 4th MVP of the season against Gloucester.
- Stand-in libero tian absolutely beastin' in defence and getting an MVP against Bristol in his first game 🫢
- Our main man Vinny levelling up the hospitality game and bringing in his homegrown devilled eggs
